About

My artistic practice connects sound, space, and movement, with walking and listening as fundamental acts. For over twenty years, I have explored the walkability, acoustics, and atmosphere of urban and architectural spaces. This ongoing research has resulted in performative and installation-based works such as go your gait! and Path of Awareness, where the rhythmic interplay of footsteps, spatial structures, and ambient sound becomes perceptible.

Everyday life forms the starting point for creative transformation in my work. Objects such as brooms and shoes are reimagined as instruments that poetically intertwine movement and sound. Projects like Andante, BesenBallett, and Raumspiel create social sculptures through choreographed actions and participatory elements, turning urban space into a stage for collective experience.

Each of my projects arises from intensive site-specific research and interdisciplinary collaboration with artists, scientists, architects, and urban planners. Through this approach, I invite audiences to question their habitual experiences of space and rhythm, offering new perspectives on the interaction between sound, movement, and social dynamics.

To me, sound is not only an acoustic event but also a spatial and bodily phenomenon – shaping our relationship to the environment and to society. My work seeks to make this interplay between sound and space both visible and audible as an integral part of everyday life.

I aim to engage participants and spectators in shared experiences that highlight the often-overheard musicality of everyday actions. By choreographing and amplifying simple gestures – such as sweeping in BesenBallett – I open up new ways of perceiving urban life: through attentive movement, through listening, and through collective creation.
